I haven't ridden a Sportster, but my Savage seems smooth as silk at most speeds. I love cruising at around 60-65, and the mirrors are stable and the engine purrs like a kitten. There is some "shaking", but nothing bothersome and way less than you'd expect from a thumper. I don't even notice it except when I'm pushing 75, which seems above the Savage's "sweet spot" anyway.
